Private Care Sector Workforce Initiative
Introduction
The Private Care Sector Workforce Initiative aims to develop the capacity of the private care sector in Scotland to deliver on the national workforce agenda. The Initiative is managed by Scottish Care and is funded by the Scottish Government through the Older People’s Unit and the Workforce & Capacity Issues Division within the Social Care Directorate.
We are delighted to infom you that the Scottish Government has agreed to continue funding the Private Care Sector Workforce Initiative until March 2011.
As members are aware, Scottish Care manages the Workforce Initiative on behalf of the wider private health and social care sector in Scotland.
The Workforce Initiative will be working closely with the SSSC and the Scottish Social Services Learning Networks to support private sector providers in relation to developing the workforce and in building capacity in the sector over the coming year.
David Rennie, Mike Kiely, and Rona Montagneux are continuing their involvement with the Workforce Initiative.
