Private Care Sector Workforce Initiative
Aims & Objectives
The main aim of the Workforce Initiative is to develop the capacity of the private care sector to deliver on the national workforce agenda through:
• Involving employers in shaping the workforce of the future
• Providing information on policy, regulation and registration
• Developing an understanding of and engagement in workforce planning
• Promoting best practice in recruitment
• Supporting employers with SSSC required registration
• Improving learning & development opportunities for staff
• Facilitating use of the Continuous Learning Framework
• Developing practice learning opportunities
• Promoting access to and sufficiency of resources.
To deliver on this, the Workforce Initiative will work closely with the Scottish Social Services Council, the Scottish Social Services Learning Networks and our colleagues in the voluntary sector
The agenda is ambitious and it has been broken down into a workplan to ensure that real progress is made to meet the needs identified by the sector.
