Private Care Sector Workforce Initiative

About Us

Introduction

The Private Care Sector Workforce Initiative aims to develop the capacity of the private care sector in Scotland to deliver on the national workforce agenda.   The Initiative is managed by Scottish Care in partnership with Scottish Care at Home and is funded by the Scottish Government through the Older People’s Unit and the Workforce & Capacity Issues Division within the Social Care Directorate.

We are delighted to infom you that the Scottish Government has agreed to continue funding the Private Care Sector Workforce Initiative until March 2010. Our Aims and Objectives for 2009 - 2010 can be accessed by clicking here.

As members are aware, Scottish Care manages the Workforce Initiative in partnership with Scottish Care at Home on behalf of the wider private health and social care sector in Scotland.

The Workforce Initiative will be working closely with the SSSC and the Scottish Social Services Learning Networks to support private sector providers in relation to developing the workforce and in building capacity in the sector over the coming year.  We are currently discussing the detail of this and information will be made availble through the Workforce Initiative website and through our monthly ebulletins to all care homes registered with the Care Commission. The new Work Plan for 2009/2010 is available by clicking here.

David Rennie, Mike Kiely, Noni Cobban and Rona Montagneux are continuing their involvement with the Workforce Initiative.
