INVITATION TO COMPLETE SURVEY ON YOUR NEEDS FOR INFORMATION BY 30 SEPTEMBER

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is intending to develop a range of information services (on and offline) to support the health, voluntary and social services workforce (generalist, professional and specialist levels) delivering care and support to older people.

Carol Hallesy has been employed by NES to develop an online information solution, and am currently undertaking a detailed information needs analysis to inform what resources are required for the workforce that provide care and support to older people. This analysis will build on the consultation of the Improving Care for Older People Shared Space (the Care Commission’s Care Home Learning Network’s online community) that was carried out in 2009.  Although key areas which would benefit from further support have already been identified, we require a more in-depth understanding of the information needs of staff who care for and support older people.

The results will be used to inform the development of online resources; a website to signpost health and social care staff to information and learning resources relevant to the care of older people; communities of practice; and information skills for staff. Associated training and support will be provided.

In order to participate in the information needs analysis, NES invites you to complete the survey which may be viewed here http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CDYVHDP. It should take around 15 minutes to complete, and will be available until the 30th of September.
The information you provide will be invaluable in helping us to gain a detailed understanding of your information needs in caring for and supporting older people and will inform the future direction of the project.

Thank you for your time and involvement.
