Key sources of information on Workforce Development

Whereas the Workforce Initiative website currently provides a range of important information for services and practitioners, this information is largely drawn from a number of key sites, including:

 

·         Social Services Knowledge Scotland (SSKS) is a gateway to a wealth of information and learning materials to support services and practitioners in day to day work and in learning - www.ssks.org.uk/

 

Care for Older People Portal.  This is housed within SSKS and it provides information, resources and education for health and social care staff who support older people in Scotland –Click here for the link to the Portal.

  

Support Workers Portal.  Upcoming resource within SSKS to provide information for support workers on SVQ underpinning knowledge and other information to help practitioners undertake their work roles – from Autumn 2011

 

·         Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).  The body which registers the social services workforce in Scotland and provides information and guidance on all aspects of workforce development - www.sssc.uk.com/

 

·         Care Inspectorate The body which regulates all social services in Scotland - www.scswis.com/

 

·         Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (IRISS) is a charitable company with a mission to: …promote positive outcomes for the people who use Scotland’s social services by enhancing the capacity and capability of the social services workforce to access and make use of knowledge & research for service innovation & improvement - www.iriss.org.uk/
