About the Focus group
Fiona Bell and Mary Richardson are project consultants working with NES to develop a range of work around working with people who require wheelchairs and specialist seating systems. There are three main strands to this work which we want to talk about and get your opinions on. Some details are given below.
Ready4Work Website:
The Ready 4 Work web resource aims to provide information that would be useful for people who are interested in moving into this area of practice of working in this area, although it will also be also useful for those in practice/ new to practice. The focus is on self-directed learning and links to existing resources. We would like your views on the content.
Community of Practice Website
This will be a website for staff working with people using wheelchairs and mobility aids. It is being developed in response to comments from staff in previous work that they wanted a resource like his.
My job is to find out what you would like included on the site, and to work with you and your colleagues to find the information and put it there so that everyone can access it.
Shared capabilities
We aim to develop a set of shared capabilities as the first stage in the development of an Educational Framework for staff working with mobility aids and appliances. These will set out the minimum requirements or capabilities that all staff providing staff mobility aids and appliances services across all sectors should possess. They should be applicable to all staff in both practice and support roles, regardless of setting and at all levels. We hope to discuss these capabilities and get your views about what these mean in your practice, possibly in the form of stores from you own experiences of good practice.
Please contact to confirm your place for Friday 11th March or call 0788 9048 584 for more information.
