Palliative Care in Dementia - Training for Trainers Programme

The SSSC and NES invite applications from health and social services staff to participate in this Palliative Care in Dementia - Training for Trainers Programme.

Scotland’s National Dementia Strategy was launched in June 2010 and outlined key actions to improve the knowledge and skills of health and social services staff working in working with people with dementia, their families and carers. Actions arising from the strategy included the development of Promoting Excellence: A framework for all health and social services staff working with people with dementia, their families’ carers and the Standards of Care for Dementia in Scotland published in June 20111. This initiative is part of a wider workforce development plan NES and SSSC are taking forward to support implementation of Promoting Excellence; and the Dementia Standards.
