Health and Social Care (HSC) NOS are the authoritative occupational standards for people who work in health and social care settings with adults and/or children across the UK. They are the basis for the HSC SVQs at levels 2, 3 and 4.
A full review of the HSC NOS is taking place this year. The review will consider all 215 of the HSC NOS and bring them up to date. This will include:
• Making sure the content of each NOS reflects current practice
• Making sure the language is clear and ‘feels right’ for the sector
• Adding new NOS where necessary to reflect emerging roles or new ways of working
• Removing any NOS that are no longer needed
There are two ways in which you can contribute:
1. By taking part in a consultation in Aberdeen on 7 June. Click here to view details
2. By completing an online survey by Monday 20 June. This survey invites you to comment on groups of NOS arranged under headings (Communication, Health Care, Promoting Independence, etc).
