The Care Inspectorate annual returns are now available for service providers to complete through the eForms system. They must be submitted by 20 February 2012.
By law, under the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010, section 53(6), all providers that are registered with the Care Inspectorate must provide the information the inspectorate consider they need in order to help plan and carry out inspections effectively. This will result in better outcomes for people who use services. The information given will also help reduce the number of questions other organisations, such as the Scottish Government and Scottish Social Services Council, may need to ask in future.
If an annual return is not submitted by 20 February 2012, without a satisfactory explanation agreed beforehand with the care service's inspector, one of the Quality Statements for the Quality of Management and Leadership Theme will be re-graded to unsatisfactory (1) (for childminders this will be Quality Statement 3.9). This will cause the Quality Theme to be re-graded overall as unsatisfactory.
The eForms Help Desk can be contacted on 0845 603 0890 if there are any problems completing an annual return.
