Assuring Quality - Care Commission Inspection Focus Area 2010-2011

The Care Commission has committed to one Inspection Focus Area (IFA) for 2010/11. It is called “Assuring Quality” and applies only to Care at Home services and combined Care at Home and Housing Support services.  Please note that there are no IFAs for any other service type this year. They will be using a sample approach for this IFA and CCOs will notify the providers that have been selected when they confirm the inspection visit details. A copy of our evidence gathering tool can be found at:

IFAs allow the Care Commission to explore and report nationally to a wide range of stakeholders, including service users, carers and providers about the quality of care in Scotland. It is also important to note that IFAs are complementary to their inspection process and will provide evidence for particular Quality Themes and Statements.

They may ask additional questions and inspect against additional Quality Themes and Statements where required and this will be explained to you where it occurs.
