Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme update
Disclosure Scotland has advised that they are to carry out further testing of their IT system and therefore cannot confirm at the moment that retrospective checking will begin on 28 February 2012. Disclosure Scotland has written to all lead countersignatories to let them know.
This does not impact on registration with the SSSC. For those applying to register with the SSSC we will continue to require employers to provide details of either an enhanced Disclosure Scotland certificate number and date of the disclosure or a PVG scheme membership number. Either of which should relate to the employment they are applying for registration for.
Applicants who have not had an enhanced disclosure or the employer cannot provide the details of their enhanced disclosure will require their employee to become a PVG scheme member.
