SSSC Scottish Workforce Data report
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has now made four sets of detailed workforce data available online at the SSSC's Workforce Solutions Portal (WSP). The link below will take you to the Workforce Intelligence Library of the WSP, and on that page you will find access to a number of data products. The relevant data sets can all be found under the "Workforce Data" heading.
There are four data workbooks: one each for 2008, 2009 and 2010; while the fourth workbook provides data from 2010 at the level of individual registered services. There is a guidance note within each of the workbooks which explains what data items are provided.
The reason for making this more detailed data available is to supplement the annual workforce data reports published by the SSSC (these are also available from the same WSP page). The feedback received from stakeholders in 2011 indicated that while the annual reports have been welcomed by the sector there was also a strong view that more detailed data at local authority level should be made publicly available so that stakeholders could make use of it. This is the first tranche of such data being made available by the SSSC and it is our intention to consult stakeholders later this year on the extent to which the data provided are useful to them. The views received will shape future data releases.
