Workforce Initiative receives transitional funding from Scottish Government to June 2011

The Scottish Government has agreed that Scottish Care will receive funding from April – June 2011 to engage in a number of focussed activities, with the following objectives:

1. To ensure services are actively and positively contributing to the SSSC service redesign project
2. To maintain workforce development information and advice to services; support access and use available knowledge relevant to workforce development; and contribute to identifying future knowledge solutions and database information for the sector
3. To ensure that the new arrangements from July onwards are well communicated to services, so that maximum continuity is maintained
4. To ensure connectivity with services on agreed core activity including leadership and the Continuous Learning Framework
5. To sustain employer engagement with the key national strategy and policy drivers as they relate to workforce development
6. To ensure arrangements are in place for effective delivery of workforce development from July onwards

Much of the above is to support the SSSC in its redesign of how they are organised and the services they provide.  It will be to enable employers and employees to engage fully with these processes and actively contribute to shaping the future of workforce development.
